Instructions
Preparation Steps
Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt in a large slow cooker.
Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours until the apples are very soft.
Use an immersion blender to puree the apple mixture until smooth.
Add apple cider vinegar and stir well.
Cook uncovered on low for an additional 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened to desired consistency.
Transfer the apple butter to sterilized jars and let cool before sealing.
Notes
Store apple butter refrigerated for up to 3 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
