Bacon Cheeseburger Gnocchi

This easy 30-minute meal combines fluffy gnocchi with the classic flavors of a bacon cheeseburger, making it a perfect comfort food and a kid favorite!

  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 6 oz bacon chopped
  • 24 oz potato gnocchi store-bought or homemade
  • 1.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 tbsp ketchup
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter for sautéing
  • 0.5 cup diced white onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the fat in the skillet.
  • Add butter to the skillet with bacon fat, then sauté diced onion and minced garlic until translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  • Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine ketchup, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to create the burger sauce.
  • Add the cooked gnocchi and bacon back into the skillet with the sausage mixture. Stir in the burger sauce and mix well to combine and heat through.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the gnocchi mixture and cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
  • Serve hot as a comforting bacon cheeseburger inspired gnocchi dish.
