Baked Ziti Recipe

A classic baked ziti recipe with a flavorful tomato sauce, creamy ricotta filling, and melted mozzarella cheese.

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 28 ounces can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ziti according to package directions.
  • In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  • In a separate bowl, combine crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, and garlic powder.
  • In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the ziti, half of the ricotta mixture, and half of the tomato sauce.
  • Repeat layers.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and golden brown.
