Simple and delicious boiled potatoes, perfect as a side dish or a base for other recipes.

  • 2 lbs Potatoes Yukon Gold or Russet
  • 1 tsp Salt Sea salt recommended
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 2 tbsp Butter Optional, for serving

Preparation Steps

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and cut them into evenly sized chunks.
  • Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add salt.
  • Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter (if using) and season with pepper. Toss gently to combine.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, add a clove of garlic to the boiling water. You can also mash the boiled potatoes for a simple mashed potato dish.
