Butter Pecan Pound Cake

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1.5 cups pecans, chopped

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in chopped pecans.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
