A comforting and cheesy baked pasta dish perfect for family dinners. This recipe combines tender pasta with a rich sauce and is topped with melted cheese.
Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add in onions and garlic. Sauté over medium heat for 3 minutes. Sprinkle on flour and stir. Cook an additional 3 minutes.
Whisk in milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and add in tomato sauce, salt, oregano, and basil. Cook on medium-low for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, cook tortellini and broccoli in boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain.
Add drained tortellini and broccoli to the sauce mixture. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
Pour the mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
Notes
This baked pasta is best served hot. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
