Instructions
Preparation Steps
Remove the lid from the jar of maraschino cherries, saving the lid, and drain out a third of a cup of juice, keeping the cherries inside.
Add a quarter cup of vodka to the jar, replace the lid, and refrigerate for at least one hour or up to overnight for stronger flavor.
Carefully remove cherries from the jar and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure the white chocolate adheres properly.
Line a rimmed tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Place the white chocolate melting discs in a small microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave the white chocolate at 50% power for 30 to 60 seconds, stir, then continue heating for 15 to 30 seconds until smooth.
Hold each dry cherry by the stem and dip about three-quarters into the melted white chocolate.
Dip the bottom of the white chocolate coated cherry into blue sanding sugar and place stem-up on the prepared tray. Repeat for all cherries.
Chill the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure cherries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Store leftovers refrigerated.
