Chicken Cordon Bleu

Delicious chicken breast filled with ham and Swiss cheese, breaded and pan-fried to golden perfection. A classic comfort food recipe.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts Chicken Breasts
  • 4 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 4 slices Ham
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • teaspoon Salt to taste
  • teaspoon Black pepper to taste

Preparation Steps

  • Pound chicken breasts to 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  • Fold the chicken over to enclose the ham and cheese.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

Serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes or green beans.
