Chili Con Carne Recipe

A hearty and flavorful chili con carne recipe, perfect for a chilly evening. This recipe uses a blend of beef, beans, and spices for a rich and satisfying meal.

  • 1.5 lbs Ground beef
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes (15oz)
  • 1 can Kidney beans (15oz), drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup Beef broth

Preparation Steps

  • Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the chili powder, cumin, and oregano. Cook for 1 minute more.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a richer flavor.
  • Serve hot, topped with your favorite chili toppings.

Notes

For a spicier chili, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. You can also add other vegetables, such as bell peppers or corn.
