Preparation Steps
Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
Microwave on medium power in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang and cut into squares.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips. You can also add chopped nuts, dried fruit, or other toppings to the fudge before refrigerating.
