chocolate mousse

A rich and decadent chocolate mousse recipe, perfect for a special occasion or a delightful dessert.

  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • In another bowl, whisk the eggs and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Gently fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
  • Carefully fold in the whipped cream.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Divide the mousse into serving glasses and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate. Garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries before serving.
