This crab cakes recipe is a delicious and classic seafood dish perfect for any occasion. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside!

  • 1 lb lump crab meat picked over for shells
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs preferably panko
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard Dijon or your choice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to combine.
  • Shape the mixture into 8 patties and set aside.
  • Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat. Cook crab cakes for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges or tartar sauce.
