Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
Form the mixture into 4 patties.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
Cook the burgers for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
During the last minute of cooking, top each burger with a slice of cheddar cheese.
Serve the burgers on buns.
