  • 4 cups Chicken Broth Low sodium preferred
  • 1.5 lbs Cooked Chicken Shredded
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 0.5 cup Diced Carrots
  • 0.5 cup Diced Celery
  • 0.25 cup Chopped Onion
  • 0.25 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer.
  • Add shredded chicken, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream and heat through. Do not boil.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
