  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 15 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces Lasagna noodles, broken
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the sausage mixture to the slow cooker. Add the chicken broth, ricotta cheese, lasagna noodles, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the noodles are tender.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute the Italian sausage with a plant-based sausage or add more vegetables like mushrooms and zucchini.
