Crockpot stuffing

This crockpot stuffing recipe is easy to make and perfect for a crowd. It's packed with savory flavors and requires minimal effort.

  • 12 oz Sausage, Italian, sweet or hot, removed from casings
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks Celery, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 8 cups Bread cubes, day-old
  • 4 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons Dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • In a large skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add the onion and celery to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Melt the butter in the skillet.
  • In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sausage mixture, chicken broth, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the stuffing is heated through and slightly golden on top.
