Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the onion and celery to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Melt the butter in the skillet.
In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sausage mixture, chicken broth, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 6-quart slow cooker.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the stuffing is heated through and slightly golden on top.
