Easy Baked Brie with Honey and Cranberries

Ingredients
  

Cranberry Sauce

  • 0.5 cup apple cider
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 0.25 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 6 oz fresh cranberries

Baked Brie

  • 8 oz brie cheese round
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions
 

Cranberry Sauce

  • Add the apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, ginger, and nutmeg into a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugars dissolve completely.
  • Once dissolved, add the fresh cranberries and increase heat until the mixture boils.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, or until all cranberries have popped and the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let cool before using.

Baked Brie

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the brie wheel in a shallow baking dish. Make a few slits in the top rind to help it melt evenly.
  • Top the brie generously with the prepared cranberry sauce.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and slightly melted.
  • Remove from oven and drizzle honey over the warm brie. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts if desired.
  • Serve immediately with crackers or crusty bread.
