Easy Focaccia Bread Recipe

This easy focaccia bread recipe makes a delicious and flavorful bread with a crispy crust and soft interior. Perfect as a side or for sandwiches!

  • 4.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Warm water (105-115°F)
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil Plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon Sea salt flakes For topping
  • 0.5 cup Rosemary Fresh, chopped, optional

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Knead the dough in the bowl for 2-3 minutes, or on a lightly floured surface for 1-2 minutes until it comes together. It will be slightly sticky.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with olive oil.
  • Gently transfer the dough to the prepared pan. Use your fingers to dimple the dough, creating indentations across the surface.
  • Drizzle generously with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt flakes and rosemary, if using.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve focaccia warm. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
