  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for frosting

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the bars cool completely before frosting with powdered sugar mixed with a little water to desired consistency.

Notes

For a more festive look, add your favorite sprinkles on top of the frosting before it sets.
