  • 1.5 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper or to taste
  • 1 loaf Garlic Bread

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
  • While the sloppy joe mixture is simmering, prepare the garlic bread according to package instructions.
  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the garlic bread and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sloppy joe mixture. Serve with a side of coleslaw or potato salad for a complete meal.
