Instructions
Preparation Steps
In the bowl of your stand mixer, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast blooms.
Add salt, olive oil, and bread flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined, adding extra flour if needed until dough pulls away from bowl sides.
Switch to dough hook and knead on medium speed for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Shape dough into a ball and place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
Punch down dough to deflate and divide into 12 equal balls.
Roll each ball into a 9-inch rope and place on prepared baking sheets. Cover and let rise in warm place for about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 425°F when dough is almost risen.
Bake breadsticks for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Brush baked breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and kosher salt. Serve warm.
Notes
Store leftover breadsticks in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving for best taste.
