For the Chicken
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- ½ cup 0.12 lb grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup 0.12 lb panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons 0.1 lb olive oil
- 1 large egg
Optional Garnish
- Chopped parsley
- Lemon wedges
Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Parmesan Coating
In a shallow dish, mix the Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Step 3: Prepare the Chicken
In another shallow dish, whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, making sure it’s well coated.
Dredge the chicken in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.
Step 4: Bake the Chicken
Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the tops of the chicken for extra crispiness.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
- Storage: Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheating Tip: Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) to keep the chicken crispy.
- Variations: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat, or swap Italian seasoning for fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme.
- Serving Idea: Pair this Garlic Parmesan Chicken with a side of pasta, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
