Green Bean Casserole Recipe

A classic holiday side dish, this Green Bean Casserole recipe features crispy fried onions and creamy mushroom sauce.

  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 1 cup cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 0.5 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup fried onions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Steam or boil green beans until tender-crisp.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until softened.
  • Stir in cream of mushroom soup and milk. Heat through.
  • Add green beans to the sauce and mix well.
  • Pour into a baking dish and top with fried onions.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade cream of mushroom soup.
