Instructions
Preparation Steps
Place the chicken breasts in a Ziploc bag and pound to an even thickness. Remove excess air and seal.
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, applesauce, onion, ginger, garlic, oil, bourbon, BBQ sauce, vinegar, brown sugar and red pepper flakes.
Reserve 1/3 cup of marinade for sauce; transfer remaining marinade to the bag with chicken. Marinate at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Preheat grill to medium high. Grill chicken 4 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Bring reserved marinade with broth to a boil, then simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 to 6 minutes.
Slice chicken, top with sauce, and garnish with scallions before serving.
Notes
Serve with steamed rice and grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
