Ground Beef Stroganoff

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 cups Mushrooms, sliced
  • 0.5 cup Beef broth
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened.
  • Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until sauce has thickened.
  • Stir in sour cream. Heat through. Serve over noodles or rice.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and ground chuck. You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots or peas.
