Preparation Steps
Rinse the quinoa in a fine-mesh sieve under cold water for about 30 seconds.
Combine quinoa and water (or broth) in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the quinoa is cooked.
Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, toast the quinoa in a dry pan for a few minutes before adding the liquid.
