  • Rinse the quinoa in a fine-mesh sieve under cold water for about 30 seconds.
  • Combine quinoa and water (or broth) in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the quinoa is cooked.
  • Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the quinoa in a dry pan for a few minutes before adding the liquid.
