Instructions
Preparation Steps
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
Drain on paper towels.
Fill with jelly using a piping bag or ziploc bag with a corner snipped off.
Notes
These doughnuts are best served fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
