  • 1 package active dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons or 1 packet
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 cups warm water 105-110°F
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for greasing
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder for topping

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine. Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Shape the dough into 16 equal breadsticks and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Brush the breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush with more melted butter if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before serving.
