Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine. Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Shape the dough into 16 equal breadsticks and place them on a baking sheet.
Brush the breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush with more melted butter if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before serving.
