Pad Thai recipe

A delicious and authentic Pad Thai recipe, easy to make at home.

  • 8 oz Dried rice noodles
  • 0.5 cup Tamarind paste
  • 0.25 cup Fish sauce
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Cooked shrimp
  • 2 eggs Eggs beaten
  • 0.5 cup Bean sprouts
  • 0.25 cup Chopped peanuts
  • 2 stalks Green onions chopped
  • Lime wedges for serving

Preparation Steps

  • Cook rice noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together tamarind paste, fish sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Add shrimp and cook until heated through.
  • Push shrimp to one side of the wok and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble the eggs until cooked.
  • Add cooked noodles and the sauce mixture to the wok. Toss to combine.
  • Stir in bean sprouts and chopped peanuts. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until heated through.
  • Garnish with green onions and serve with lime wedges.
