Salted Caramel Carmelitas

A delightful combination of caramel and chocolate in a cookie bar form, perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup caramel sauce prepared
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.

  • Press half of the crumb mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Remove from oven and pour caramel sauce evenly over the crust.

  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel.

  • Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the top.
  • Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to one week. Perfect for sharing at parties.
