Seared Cod with Lemon Butter Sauce

This seared cod recipe is quick, easy, and delicious! The flaky cod fillets are pan-seared to golden perfection and served with a bright and flavorful lemon butter sauce. A perfect weeknight meal!

  • 1 pound Cod fillets
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.25 cup Lemon juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley chopped

Preparation Steps

  • Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place the cod fillets in the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Remove the cod from the skillet and set aside. Reduce the heat to medium.
  • Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spoon the lemon butter sauce over the seared cod and serve immediately.

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or rice pilaf.
