For the Brownie Layer
- 1 cup 0.5 lb unsalted butter
- 8 oz 0.5 lb semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup 0.5 lb granulated sugar
- ¾ cup 0.38 lb brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup 0.19 lb all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup 0.03 lb cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Step 1: Prepare the Cookie Dough Layer
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Press the cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Step 2: Add the Oreo Layer
Step 3: Prepare the Brownie Layer
In a saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate mixture and whisk until combined.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Pour the brownie batter over the Oreo layer, spreading it evenly.
Step 4: Bake the Slutty Brownies
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).
Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into squares.
