Smothered Pork Steak

This smothered pork steak recipe is easy to make and super delicious. Tender pork steaks are cooked in a rich and savory gravy.

  • 4 oz Pork Steaks
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary

Preparation Steps

  • In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge the pork steaks in the mixture, coating both sides.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the pork steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Add the thyme and rosemary. Bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  • Return the pork steaks to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the pork is tender.
  • Serve the pork steaks with the gravy.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
