Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Alternate adding the flour and milk to the batter, starting and ending with the flour. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
