Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 0.5 cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 28 ounce Crushed Tomatoes
  • 6 ounce Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 pound Spaghetti

Preparation Steps

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for at least 20 minutes, or longer for a richer flavor, stirring occasionally.
  • While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package directions.
  • Serve the meat sauce over the cooked spaghetti.

Notes

Serve with a side of garlic bread and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
