Preparation Steps
Cook the spaghetti according to package directions.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and water. Bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat and simmer for at least 15 minutes, or longer for a richer flavor, stirring occasionally.
Serve the meat sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
Notes
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
