  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in milk until just combined.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.

Notes

For a sweeter shortcake, add a tablespoon of sugar to the biscuit dough.
