Sweet and Sour Chicken

A classic sweet and sour chicken recipe, easy to make at home.

  • 1.5 lbs Chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 0.25 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Pineapple chunks, drained
  • 0.5 cup Bell peppers (red and green), chopped
  • 0.25 cup Onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Sweet and sour sauce

Preparation Steps

  • In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the pineapple, bell peppers, and onion to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Pour in the sweet and sour sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and everything is heated through.
  • Serve immediately over rice.

Serve with steamed rice and enjoy!
