  • 0.25 cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 0.25 cup Beef Broth

Preparation Steps

  • Slice the onions into 1/4-inch thick rings.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the onions to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned (about 10-15 minutes).
  • Stir in the brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-30 minutes, or until the onions are very tender and caramelized.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a tablespoon of olive oil in addition to the butter. Serve with crusty bread for dipping in the delicious sauce!
