Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread sourdough, whole wheat, or your favorite
  • 1 lb 0.45 kg sliced turkey breast (deli-style or roasted)
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 cup 0.25 lb fresh spinach leaves
  • 2 tablespoons 0.1 lb butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard optional

Instructions

Step 1: Assemble the Sandwiches

  • Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each bread slice. This will be the side that touches the skillet.
  • On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer cheddar cheese, sliced turkey, spinach, and bacon.
  • Spread a little Dijon mustard on the remaining bread slices if you like, and place them on top to complete the sandwiches, buttered side facing out.

Step 2: Grill the Sandwiches

  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place the sandwiches on the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing down lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Flip carefully to avoid spilling the fillings and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes.

Step 3: Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, let them cool slightly, and slice them in half. Serve warm with a side of chips, soup, or salad.

Notes

  • Make it Spicy: Add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce inside the sandwich.
  • Storage Tip: Store leftover sandwiches in the fridge and reheat in a skillet or panini press to restore crispness.
  • Bread Options: Try it with ciabatta, focaccia, or rye for different textures.
  • Vegetarian Option: Swap the turkey and bacon with grilled mushrooms and extra cheese.
